Soundless laptop!

My laptop is soundless with all applications except media players and CD-ROM games. This baffles me. I really want to watch Youtube videos and flash movies, but no sound emanates from my speakers. Any ideas?

Have you checked in the volume control? You double click the speaker down in the task tray and it'll come up.

Yes. I have. Remember, media players and CD-ROM games have sound. Also embedded midis in webpages play, along with embedded MP3's. Just nothing else.

Apparently, it's a problem with Flash - reinstall it (newest version).

Did you check the Wave volume level in the volume control?

Yea well a laptop still needs a driver for the sound hardware.
If its internet things that donâ€™t have sound maybe your web browser is brokering?
Try a different one.

What do you mean? Speakers or a microphone? If that, no.
