Safe to be missing F1 resistor?

Well while testing my controller job that's going to be in my portable, 3 wires touched, because I don't have electrical tape till tomorrow. It blew it up my F1 resistor(Controller works great tho BTW), and I don't have a new resistor to put there, so I just pulled it out and put a wire bridging it. It works fine, but will there be any damage

I'm could be wrong but I would replace it. Anything that is there in the beginning was probably their for a reason. However the people on these forums usually prove that wrong.

It's still safer to put a 10ohms resistor instead, it cost 25Â¢ and it is known to works (and not to kill further parts in the pcb/mobo).

Just my 2 cents ...

Well I'm planning to replace it, it's just the closest store with anything electrical is 30 miles away, and I don't have a license till next year

I just wondered if it was safe for a week or so.

my DC doesn't even work without that thing :S , it sucks cause i think mine as blown, since the controllers aren't working, I need to replace it but I can't find a resistor for it :S , how do i see if a resistor has 10 ohms? all I can see is the Voltage and e uFs , I've tried different kinds of resistors but none of them work ...

Just so you know, if this resistor (in fact it's a resistor-like fuse but nobody cares anyway) blown, it had its reasons, so if you bypass it, further parts may die in your motherboard, potentially frying it.

Depending on where you are located, I could ship you a free 10ohm resistor if you pay the shipping (would be ridiculously small if you're in america)
