Ok so how can I make a portable pong?

I got these plastic encloses from that site with the free free samples and I want to make one into into the "porta-pong" hand healed gaming system!

I will learn how to solder and stuff so it will be fun! I love pong and it is SIMPLE! No other video game is simpler ten pong! It was the first one ever and I love it!

So here are my questions before I get started.

1:Where can I buy a pong kit? I saw this one but it looks like it takes 3 batteries and the case things I got have a built in 2 AA battery compartment!

2:Can I make my own printed circuit board? I saw a video on youtube somewhere? How would I design the board?

3:If I do make my own board how will I control the paddle?

4:What is a good cheep soldering iron?

5:Where can I get a little LCD screen like on graphing calculators and stuff or like the G15 keyboard? (best keyboard EVER! Typing with it right now!)

6:How much could I sell a one of a kind porta-pong system for lol? Enough for a new motherboard?

Pong isn't the first game ever, tennis for 2 is. Either way this should be pretty cool if you make it look nice.

1. You've probably seen <a href="http://www.thinkgeek.com/geektoys/scien ... g=cj">this one</a> already then.

2. There's free software for designing PCBs, but to make your own I think you need a laser printer or Xerox machine (you need the toner) and a PCB kit. It would probably be easier to use wires and a PC board with solder pads.

3. You'll probably need potentiometers, since it's analog. (Ha! Nintendo didn't invent analog controls on video games, PONG did! )

4. Radio Shack has soldering irons. They're ch<b>ea</b>p in dollars and build quality. Maybe I'm just used to my 60w Weller but I think rat shack irons take forever to heat up. They get the job done fine, but I'm nopt too crazy about them. And as always, <a href="http://www.harborfreight.com/">Harbor Freight Tools</a> has a bunch of ch<b>ea</b>p tools. ("Cheap" refers to cost. "Cheep" is the sound birds make. )

5. I don't know, but it probably won't take Composite video. You'd have to make an NTSC decoder and a controller for the screen. Just use a regular screen. <a href="http://aeicomp.com/Detail.asp?Product_I ... 8L">Here's a 1.8" LCD for $80</a>.

6. Probably no more than $50 plus the cost of parts.

You should try making a pong clone that uses an LED array. Those things are so cool.
