Need RAM for Bioshock

Okay, like the title says I am hoping to upgrade my computer from 1GB to 2GB so I can run Bioshock (although I may also upgrade my video card later..). Anyway I was looking and I found thisRAM. Should I buy 2 sticks of that RAM or should I spend a little more and buy something from Corsair or another good brand?

Well, that is a really good suggestion.. but I'd rather buy some cheaper RAM so that I can save up later for a new video card. I may just get that $10 value RAM because I don't have a lot of $$$

I picked up a pair of these last summer and they've been very kind to me (hell, considering the price I paid for them then, maybe I'll pick up a stick of these babies now).

How many RAM slots do you have? If your board only has 2 then buying that memory isn't very productive...

Yes, my board has 2 slots of RAM left and it supports up to 4 gigs of RAM. Im leaning more towards buying one good stick of RAM as opposed to that cheepy RAM I was looking at......

Buy Corsair's budget RAM, it works great. I've had this same 512, PC3200 stick for 2 years (in two computers), and its performed fine.

And yes..two years I've had 512, and for two years I've been meaning to upgrade..

OKay, I have a couple of RAM sticks I am looking at on Newegg, but I have one question. If I already have one gig installed (2x 512mb) should I go with 1 gig stick of RAM or 2x 512mb

Get 1 gig sticks if you can. If you upgrade again in the future you'll have to replace a 512 stick, which is just a waste.

my opinion:

1) there is no need to buy anything but the cheapest ram unless you ever plan to overclock. it should run at spec fine, and if it dosent you can return it.

2) you arent going to need more than 2 gigs before you get a new computer anyways, might as well get two sticks in order to run in dual-channel mode.

3) bioshack only needs 1gb of ram. unless you are having problems just save your money.
