Am I to old?

I wanted to get n to computer programing and system modding and stuff like that but I think its to late for me..I'm about to be in my junior year of high school. I'm 16 years old. I'm just now taking computer science 1 so am I right am I to old?

It's never to late to get in computers. In fact 16 is pretty young.

You way of thinking isn't abnormal. Most kids see others who have been doing things (in this example, let's say programming) since they were 10 or something, and feel inferior to them. However, 16 is still plenty young to start things. At 16 you still have plenty of free time for stuff like that. I was 15 when I started, and learned a good bit of visual basic. It was all from courses in school too. And since Americans start a year later, and I'm not down with the American terminology, I'm assuming you're entering the equivalent of Grade 10. That's plenty not too late.

16 isn't too old like everyone else has said.
A little off topic but my school doesn't offer any programming classes

. Anyone have a link to a good website to start learning a programming language?

I have a really heavy book on Actionscript 2. I never finished it, and got it for $70 CAD at Chapters. Try looking in your local bookstore.

Thanks guys. I just have no idea where to start. Its SOOOOOO CONFUSING. I understand that I have to learn binary first that is what I'm going to try to do this last week of summer!

P.S I heding in to the 11 grade I started earlier than most people!

No you don't.

Visual Basic is easy to pick up and use. Once you learn to "think like the machine" (ie learn a bit of one language), learning other languages is easier.

if you really want confusing, try Lisp or FORTRAN.

Age isn't the issue, dedication and persistence is. If you really want to learn programming, or anything else, and really put your mind to it, and have the incentive to succeed, you can do it.
