I want to set up a second hard drive this computer I recently bought off kijiji
anyways I know the basics of computers...like what cables to connect to the hdd but no so much the software part its running windows 2000...but even before i turn it on im putting the hdd in and installing xp will it automatically install drivers and stuff and regonize the hdd like when I plug an mp3 player into my computer by the way i was this to be a secondary hdd plz help...

edit: by the way am I getting a good deal on this computer?? its got a 1ghz procceser 512mb of ram...not sure about the video card....10 gb hdd and windows 2000 and im paying 100 bucks with a 17in monitor mouse and keyboard seemed like a good deal to me but my freind told me other wise and will that system run xp no problem??

Plug it in and turn the computer on. It will work. (As long as your jumper settings are okay and the drive itself isn't dead.)

EDIT: I wouldn't pay $100 for that. $50 maybe, but $100 is a lot. It will run XP fine; I've run it on a Pentium II 400 with 128 MB of RAM just fine.
