Ya, I think about + or - 3 years with both being 13-18 is the max, after one is 18, the other should be less than 3 years younger until they're both 18. You should still wait til you're married though, I know I am, no reason to risk getting AIDs or becoming a teen father, among other reasons.

If they are close to the same age, then it's practically always legal.

There is a local case (in Georgia-- another Georgia resident checking in) where a guy has been jailed for the past two years or something based upon a poorly-worded statutory rape law. The writer of the law even said that this was not the intent of his bill.

Statutory rape laws exist to prevent Child abuse. This leads to things being a little hairy for a couple of years right around the age of consent, but I really don't know a better way to do it.

But as far as I know, in every state in the U.S. if two thirteen year olds have sex they aren't doing anything illegal. It's a horrible idea, but it isn't illegal.
