question for people that know about old mac's

Post by ganonbanned »

alright- I have to share a room with 2 nut-sacks, and they want me to move all of my mac stuff out of the room. on top of that, I have to save up for a 360 so I can get halo 3. I want to sell all of this, it wont matter much to me I got it for like $5-$10. heres everything I have, should I sell it seperately or in a lot? should I sell the software separately?

alright, heres all my stuff

Mac Hardware (note that when I say perfect condition, there may be writing on it, such as the room number or what teacher used it, cuz I got this stuff from school
Mac performa 6360, perfect condition

Mac LCIII, missing processer

Apple II GS, perfect condition

apple IIE, perfect, has modern PS/2 adaptor.

my only monitor is an apple color RGB monitor, I have the power cord but not the other one

1 mac keyboard

3 mac mice

Disc's
(for windows)
word processing 97 with word (30 copies)

nero express 6.3.1.20F (2 copies, dont know if there legit but look like it)

client pro 375 (2 copies, look like legit)

I also have a whole bunch of 5 inch floppies and mac software.

Here's what I recommend for pricing:

Performa bundle: 6360, keyboard, mouse, power cable: $40.

LCIII: $5

IIgs: $15

IIe: $10

Monitor: $10

Remaining 2 mice: $0.50 ea

Word Processing 97: $0.10 ea

Nero Express: $0.50 ea

Client Pro (whatever that is): $0.10 ea

5" floppies and Mac software: Specifics needed please :)

If the writing on the computer is in permanent marker, you can probably remove it with Goo Gone. Put a couple layers of paper towel over the spot (fold one in half, that's fine) and saturate them with goo gone. Leave it for a few hours and you should be able to remove the ink relatively easily. (DO NOT USE GOOF OFF! It will remover the plastic! :P) Use Windex or Fantastik to clean up the Goo Gone's oily residue. People might be more willing to buy it if it looks halfway decent.

You can buy adapters that let you plug a PC style monitor into a Mac, I use one on my PM7600/132. If you can find one for a couple bucks on eBay or at a computer store, throw it in the Performa bundle and add a little to the price. (About $10 or so.) If you need an ADB cable to go from the Mac or IIgs to the keyboard, you can use a normal S-Video cable instead. (This is an old trick dating back to the Mac II days, where people would put the CPU under their desks and the stock coiled ADB cable was too short to reach.)

Ooh what Mac software do you have? Any of it legally redistributable? /me might be interested... And could you post a picture of the collection, specifically the monitor? It would help the appraisal. :)

for software, I'll make a list, it's mostly a bunch of old printer software, and for the OS version I believe I only have 7.1
