I saw that in bens thing it says he joined the forum in 1969. Is that right.

He would have set the forums time to that, created an account, then changed the time back to the present. I believe the board is only a year old.

If I remember correctly from my DOS days, the earliest an IBM PC can set the "created" date for a file is 12/31/69... I not be absolutely correct but I know 1969 is of significance.

Yep.

Due to Kleinrock's early development of packet switching theory and his focus on analysis, design and measurement, his Network Measurement Center at UCLA was selected to be the first node on the ARPANET. All this came together in September 1969 when BBN installed the first IMP at UCLA and the first host computer was connected.

yeah, but the date to match is 31 Dec 1969, not september. It just happens that the Unix Epoch is on midnight, 31 Dec 1969 GMT.
