DMS4 E.Z.I. Lite... Just ordered one, what can i expect!!!

Post by riva16 »

Does anyone have an experience with this chip? I just ordered it for $81.90 shipped, and it BETTER worth the price! It's solderless, so thats good, I can solder, but I hate it, I just wasted 5 hours last night attepting a DUO 2 SE install, but the install failed. The system stillw orks, I just think a wire wasn't actually soldered on somewhere, that the rubber around it got connected tot he board and "emulated" the wire was soldered. I'm doen with that crap now, i just ordered this sucker... Isn't DMS the best? and flashable? This should be wuite fantastic i assume. Any info/advice for me?

But modchips themselves are perfectly legal. It's the software on them that isn't :)

Oh so what... I said mod chip... I just asked if there was anything I should know, or any advise from other users... I didn't ask where to download flash files or how to boot/copy games I rent to keep or anything... Jeez! Now that i think about, I'll need flash files becuase the chip comes blank with no code for booting backups/imports... Just homebrew...

as I said I dont like the chip but sence you already ordered it the latest verson of the "Toxic" bios would be what you want to flash it with not 0.2 cause that will onley work with the pro

a) the DMS does not have any bios flashed onto it....you can't even play backups unless you flash other (yes, illegal) software onto it. Out of the bag it's prefectly legal though.
b) $80+ is the most rediculous price ever for a PS2 modchip
c) DMS sucks. I bought a DMS 4 Pro and it destroyed 2 of my PSTwo systems. If you have the older model it might not be a problem though.
d) DMS 4 Pro is better than DMS 4 Lite...and it's only $50-$60 shipped.

I have a question about mod chips for the PS2, I know they are illegal and all that stuff, but my only question is this: Is it possible to play pirate PlayStation games (not PS2 games) with those chips for the PS2?

$80 is NOT cheap when it comes to this mod chip. Its that expensive becuase of the solderless connections! I won't do solder mods anymore, too time "hogging." DMS4 guide estimates 20 minutes tops! Its worth it to me to pay $80 and NOT break my Ps2 then spend only $20 on a cheapy chip and break my PS2... Thats why I'm selling both my DUO 2 SE and Messiah2 PRO... I won't solder them in anymore... Its worth it... Ohh yeah, you need the diode mod for the PStwo in order for the chips to run right... They reccomend it in the guide i think... Not sure though... Don't quote me on that!

The diode mod limits the current going to the laser so it doesn't fry :)

yes, I know about the diode mod....unfortunately I ordered the chip and installed it before the problem was well known and before the diode mod existed. Do the Duo SE and Massiah chips work well? If so, I might be interested in buying them from you...I don't mind the soldering I just want a chip that won't fry my PSTwo (again)...
