Great video.

Are any of you guys going to try to pick one of these up? I think they look pretty fun to use. Heck the screen rotates, it can go into like a "portrait non keyboard mode". Also theres a button to like flip the screen incase you wanna show someone something upside down.

Sweeet.

Who wants one?

It can run internet, and mesh. So, like it has internet and it can wirelessly hook up on "LAN" to other computers.

Wasn't it supposed to only be available to schools/organizations?

Edit: Also, minimum orders of 1 million? Is that units or $? :P

Units. I hope I can pick one up though. I'd use it for school. With all those functions.

Wikipedia says that the US, will get models also. Sweet.

That means ebay will have some. I hope I can find one somewhere.

Actually the $100 dollar laptop isn't going to be $100 anymore. Now it's the $350 laptop. Maybe more.

With all of the functions of any other laptop, yes. You can get any ol' laptop for sub $100 off of eBay with specs thrice of this crap. Also, the laptops aside these aren't lime.

There was an article where the company that is going to manufacture the $100 laptops will be offering an open market version. So it's very possible something like the XO.

I haven't heard when that is going to come out, so I think I'll be going to the competitor, which is the Asus Eee PC. It's a hundred dollars more, but you know what it's going to be released within the next few months. Who really knows when the open market XO could be released.

I didn't think these were really going to be sold. Oh well.

My money is still going on Asus' compact $200 laptop. Sure I have a nice laptop, but it's too fat to carry anywhere.

Proof? That video was added on August 08 2007. So I highly doubt the price is going to change in 2 days.

No. The $100 price refers to the price when bought in bulk. For the average consumer who wants to buy just one, it will probably be around $350. I'm pretty sure they aren't going to sell in bulk to any commercial retailers, either. They aren't look to give us charity, we hardly need it. The idea behind this whole organization is good, but the computer hardly fits any of the needs of most computer-savvy people; it is made for those that are less fortunate.

IMHO it looks like a little kid's fisher price toy, why would you ever want one when you could get a much better [looking] one for almost the same price, albeit not new.

It is perfect for modding though
My idea:

Black instead of white.
Blood red instead of lime.
A blue flame with a eye ball in the middle instead of the x-man.
A antenna mod that make them skull shape.{possibly}

That is if I can get my hands on one.
