Help with composite into psone screen

I am trying to put a composite signal from my cable box into this screen. I have taken it apart and found where the L, R and V inputs go, but I cannot figure out how to get it in from a cable. I cut the cable and stripped them to wires, but when I connect them I dont get any picture or audio. Can anyone help? Thanks

Make sure you are connecting the grounds as well.

Audio - the left and right channels need ground also, and the three headphone cables need soldering together, or you won't get any sound. The composite cable also goes from the PSone screen to the composite out from your appliance, and a PSone ground wire needs connecting to the ground of your appliance. Then everything should work.

If I am soldering directly from a composite cable, are the grounds the wires that surround the central cable? And I just solder all of them together to the ground pinout on the screen? As far as the ground for my device, I am not taking my cable box apart at all, I just want to plug the composite cables into the composite out... will this automatically connect the grounds? If I just want video, do I still need to connect the audio wires, or should just video work if I only connect the yellow wire and its ground? Thanks for your help!

The cable inside the cable (ie in the plastic sheath) is the composite, the bare wires inside the cable are the ground. Connect these two to their corresponding places on the PSone screen and job done. You could alternatively do this with a female connector, then you plug your male connector from your video device into the female plug and that works.

No, if you don't want audio of course you don't have to connect the audio.

Cool... I got the video signal in, but now the colors are off. The screen looks slightly like a film negative or something. Also, when the screen has a black image, it is displaying moving gray lines. I am using the AC adapter to power it, should I try it with batteries? All my connections are soldered and have been re-soldered, so I do not think it is a connection issue... can anyone help?

Confirm what you soldered to what and what you connected to. There are only 2 wires you need for composite connection (you also need to do the 5v wire and the 7.5v power positive and negative of course.

No difference to what you see if you use batteries or mains power.
