vga hack (for dvd player not pc) scart

Hi guys,
I would like to know one thing before i start hacking away at my psone screen, I'm about to do the vga hack and was wondering, if i was to buy a vga to scart or RCA cable would this work because i have a large collection of laser disks so i would really like to use my player rather then run my projector thourgh my pc all the time, And if i could use my dvd laser disc players would i have to get a vga box or could i just get a vga 2 rca cable.

As long as the dvd player or laserdisc player outputs a 31Khz signal it should work fine

Otherwise you'll need a scan doubler. Most projectors I've seen have 15khz input though.

Hi all i've managed to have a go at trying to hack psone screen to scart,
The only problem is i get a wierd stuff on the screen, when i turn on my dvd player the picture is normal and it is a nice picture but then it starts to roll with loads of coulors, but then the picture comes back for a minute then go again it keeps doing this, this is ho i've wired it up,

scart wires Psone pinout all slot 1
composte pin 3
red in pin 4
green in pin 5
blue in pin 6
ground (rbg ground all together 3 wires) pin 7

If anyone can help that would be great.

Have you ever thought that the problem might be with macrovision?

Would macrovision do this with a composite lead as well or just scart.

Hi, I've been reading up on macrovision and i don't think this is the problem, I'm running a pal dvd disc on a pal dvd player and on a pal psone screen, theres no green tint to the picture it's a nice pictrue when there is one, i wonder if i've wired it up wrong? I have pic's if this helps but i don't know how to upload them.

Macrovision is the usual problem when it comes to the problem you specified. I'd suggest trying to use some other rgb outputing device and see if you have the same problem.

Try putting some capacitors (sp?) on the sync line and rgb lines. The screen did that to me when I first tested it on my arcade board. I just used a capacitor on the sync line and it worked fine. I think it was a 10uF but i'm not sure.
