Is Ebay RAM any good?

I'm looking at buying two sticks of 1 GB DDR RAM, and I'm wondering if the cheap stuff listed on ebay is any good.

I dont overclock or anything like that, and even the cheapest stuff listed says it comes with a warranty. Thought I'd check before buying though.

My dad bought a 32MB stick of PC133 RAM on eBay for $1 and it worked fine. All our new RAM though has been through Crucial or Fry's.

If there's a warranty, I say go for it.

Make sure the ram has a good processing speed. As 1GB can sometimes "run" faster then 2GB.

Of course; but 2GB of RAM always means more processes running.

Yes, fine; no mechanical parts after all in RAM; only the contacts can wear. Old RAM is cheap.

Un-necessary, I know, but it still must b said:

Be careful with it. I know a guy who got RAM off eBay a while ago and was so excited to get it. As he put it in, he looked at it funny and it died.

I have bought old RAM modules for two of the computers at home (old ones, not my newer ones), work perfectly fine.
