Atari 800 not working. Let the help begin! (please...)

I just recently was given an Atari 800 in pretty decent physical condition. It has the floppy drive with the power cables and cables. about 10 games, and a bunch of floppies with a bunch of games. At least 8 manuals. And anther game w/ box, totaly complete.

Sad this is, I plug the sucker in, and nothing. This is the first time I ever have had to deal with something this old. And I do not know where to start with troubleshooting. Or if it can be done.

Help.

If you need some more info, I will reply ASAP. Any help would be awesome.

Did you check the power supply's voltage with a multimeter? Maybe that's dead.

You can probably fix it, as long as the chips inside the 800 are okay.

Like bic said. The adaptor may be dead.

Also, have you tried opening that sucker up? Something maybe damaged or misplaced inside. Check if all boards all connected. Check if all wires are soldered.

er man, why make another topic?

there are two power supplies that came with it. Both are the same model w/ same voltage. I tried both. But I will check both with my multimeter that is inconveniently at a friends house. screw. Anyways. I will check that out. I did open it up, and forgot to put the speaker back in.... I am 99% sure i put the cards back in the same way. That does not mean that I got it with them in the right slots. They are seated fine. Any way to know the correct order.

Did I mention that the light doesnt turn on.... is that light supposed to turn on?

well, it said atari 2600. and its an atri 800. so i decided to put it in the other and see what happend.

i need tog et my multimeter....


how much are these thing worth?
