I converted a spare double bedroom into my "playroom/hobbyroom".

I made the desking myself and designed it; made it out of 20mm MDF and covered the top with sticky floor tiles (not conductive, great for hobbies, and also wipeable if it gets mucky).

I have 2 computers connected to one monitor and keyboard (hot-key switchable) and a number of other computers in my home for other tasks.

This pic is half of my room for "computing".

...and the other half for hobbies...

this pic shows my current N64p project in situ, with various junk; and a nice vertical storage system I got from Maplin for my various electrical components.

Big advantage being an adult; have my own house (with my wife); no kids, so I have my own playroom and so does my wife!

Aww... you're married? That's nice... I thought Ben was the only adult around here.

Yup, 41, married for nearly 11 years. According to one of the "how old are you" threads, I may well be the oldest here! (reaches for zimmer frame).

It's our old dining room table shoved in the garage with a sheet over the top. You can see the old TV I use for testing stuff, and loads of other stuff, power cables, soldering iron, speakers, NESp, GC case etc. I should probably tidy it up at some point

Yup, i'm an old git, it's official!

Anyway, i'm old enough to have ENJOYED the old systems when they first came out, and were the latest thing! My father loved gadgets, he bought the original home Pong game when it first came out (c.1975); I was 9 at the time. He also bought the Atari 2600 when it first came out, and Intellivision. I remember going to the shops with him when he bought the games! I then bought my own Intellivision and Vectrex. Boy, wish I still had them and all the games I had once, they would have been worth good money on e-bay now!!

My wife worked for the distribution arm of Nintendo when the N64 was being released in the UK, she handled a lot of the distribution administration. I didn't get any freebies or discounted stuff though, even if I had wanted them (boo).

Anyway, early forties is a good age; lots of life experiences and still (young) enough to enjoy everything, with the maturity and disposable income! Yay, great to be coming into middle age!!

I remember Dman and Limewater saying they both had wifes also.

I just have a table with all my junk on it and then I solder and stuff on the floor of an unfinished room in my lair I mean basment. But thats getting taken over by my brothers 40k stuff so I dunno, its a sad say for a modding setup in my house.

mine seriously changed in 5 months. I actually took pics to put in the old topic, but, then, i forgot.

I would show you where i would work, but I signed it off to my brother for a big tv with rgb(Yay for wii!)

I remember yours from the old thread, with the wall mounted power sockets. I should probably do that at my station.

Marshall... is your desk... a piece of wood supported by two filing cabinets? Or does it have legs?
