Regular SNES (Non-Mini) Board Size - Not very big!

Hey, I dont know who all knows how big the regular SNES's board is, but I took mine apart to see if I could disconnect the cartridge slot and reconnect it again. I decided not to. I did, on the other hand, take a pic to show it, it really is not that big. The SNES cartridge on the right is for a size reference.

Sorry if everyone already knows, it just seems like this could work very easily as well.

cant u remove the cart slot ad cut the board right dont the middle?

What? No I don't think you can cut the board down the middle.

There have been a few nice portables made using the original board. Let's make it an Easter egg hunt to see if you can find them! Anybody got any links?

Yeah, that's multi-layered fiber perfboard, you'd be cutting traces you didn't even know were there. You can try, if you want, though!

But yeah, some SNES V1's are quite tiny, especially the ones with only one motherboard. But if there's something smaller, why not use it? The more portable the better!

I used those got close to finishing a portable to. just fried one by being stupid and one just I don't know fried. (I blame static!)

I took one apart the other day just to see how big the board was (oh god, its hard without the right screwdriver or a dremel) and I was thinking about portablizing it, with a round case.

Squares are easy to work with eh

Ya snes one is hard to open without a screwdriver. Bet method dremel around the screws

Hey, I wanted to know if I can solder onto the bottom of the board where the TV jack goes. The one with red, white, and yellow. If I do, I can connect the cable and it will show on the PSone screen it gets soldered to and the bigger TV right? I'm really new to "portabalizing," never done it before, it just sounds fun though.

I opened up the connector (kind of) for the cable for the TV jack. The one that goes into the SNES.
