Fell to the temptation, I'm afraid. I got a core NIB on eBay for $230. Need info on what to buy for it. Games, etc.

Nice. Well, I'd assume many will suggest a 20GB HDD and Wifi adapter if you can't manage Ethernet.

The only games that really kept me going back to play them were Gears Of War (only if your getting LIVE), Rainbow Six Vegas (Also only if you getting LIVE), Viva Pinata, and Elder Scrolls Oblivion. I would also recommend you getting an intercooler and batteries. Oh and save up money for Bioshock.

But avoid that Nyko Intercooler like the plague. Too many horror stories. As long as you leave decent airspace around the 360 and the power supply, you should be fine.

Well there was one with the usb ports that one was fine. Not really necesarry though. In fact imagine this for some reason the fan gets stuck basicly the system can't get air out.

My 360 and all the cords were spread out so they could get more air yet my 360 overheated 5 times.

What out of thousands of people that bought an Nyko intercooler, a handfull of about like 2-3% have had bad problems.

My friend has one on his 360 for over a year, hasnt overheated at all and no RROD.

and his powerbrick hasnt exploded either.

You guys are acting like a buddy of mine whos afraid to buy a Wii because mine had a damaged graphics chip.

only 2% of Wiis are bad, as compared to 360s 30-33%

'K, well, since I have a good compy, and due to the nice announcements at e3 and all, Gears of War is waiting for PC release. The room where the 360 is going already has an Ethernet plugin, for the GC's BBA. HD is a good idea, as is the intercooler, but I'll try to avoid the Nyko 'small-percent-of-death' intercooler. Also, Elder Scrolls, same story as Gears. Rainbow 6 Vegas looks good. In addition, I think I will get Dead Rising, and Flatout: Ultimate Carnage. So:
-20 Gb HD
-Viva Pinata
-Dead Rising
-Flatout: Ultimate Carnage
(Possibly) Rainbow 6 Vegas

Nice choices! I own all those games with the exception of Flatout and I think it is safe to say that you will be happy with your choices.

Not sure what sort of games you prefer, so it is hard to make any other suggestions, but I think these will keep you occupied for awhile.

PS - Good call on not getting the intercooler. IMO they are a waste of money. Just keep the 360 in an open place with some ventilation and you'll be fine.

Yeah i would wait for Gears to come out on the PC too since its going to have new levels and all. Good choices also. Believe me Viva Pinata is one of the most underestimated games around it will keep you busy for hours.
