Why wasnt resident evil 4 this good? Like, the graphics in this "beta" of RE4 are like 360! And even ps3! (My freind who has ps3 even says thats ps3 graphics!)

Why couldnt the gamecube version be this good? Like thats definatly gamecube, as the controls that come up on screen when leon gets attacked are gamecube controls.

Also, I know it doesnt look very Resident Evil-ish as its all paranormal and looks like silent hill, but still thats no reason to downgrade the graphics.

Yeah I'm pretty sure thats the Resident Evil 4: Hooked Man Version. It was scrapped because it was too paranormal and gave off a Silent Hill horror feeling.

But why arent the graphics good? Like I new it was too paranormal, but like.. the graphics in that video KICK ASS! Like theyre 360 graphics. Why were the graphics reduced so much?

Maybe they were developing it for the 360? I dunno...

I'm pretty sure it was never in development for the 360. It remained a GC exclusive for a while after it was released for GC before Capcom decided to port it to PS2. The graphics are so good in the Hooked Man video because it uses pre-rendered backgrounds, like the old Resi Evil's. Resi Evil 4's graphics are rendered in full 3D, and thus lose a bit of quality in comparison. REmake's graphics on GC are comparable to the Hooked Man demo. The character models are very similar, and the backgrounds are almost photo-realistic.

I'm pretty sure that's why.

Yeah, the game was released in Feb of 2005 and probably never had any chance of doing anything with the GC. Which I'm glad, I loved RE4 and on PS2 it was almost as good as the GC version.

Theonlyonehefears is right, they used pre-rendered with interactive objects.

But god they cut so much graphic power when they ported Resident Evil 4 to the PS2. The Gamecube version is obviously the more superior of the two. I'm sure when Resident Evil 5 comes out on the Next Gen consoles the game will look like the Hooked Man Version maybe even better.
