Right, now I've never used Visual Basic in my life but found a nice Chat/Server program made in visual basic that works perfectly well for my needs. However I would still like the ability to edit the program. So I download Visual Basic 2005 Express Edition from Microsoft and open the project file with it.
Now this program was made in 2001 and so Visual Basic needs to update the file so I can change it. However once it's done changing the project it reports a number of warnings and errors in the project. I can now edit the project but when I save it and build the .exe and test it, It doesnt work really at all apart from opening. I'm just wondering do I need to use an older visual basic and if so where can I find it or is it something else?
Heres the source code I'm using -
http://www.gamedev.net/reference/progra ... t/chat.zip
Small 16kb zip folder.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
