Just saw Potter 5 tonight and thought it was great. Transformers was great also, but I think I'll be bored with it on dvd.

One thing that bugs the crap out of me is that Voldemort has a high voice. What kind of awesome villain has a high voice, Vader certainly doesn't. But then I haven't seen the ones with him in them (I can't remember what he sounded like in the 1st), so it might be an ok high voice.
What? If anything is perfect about these movies, it's the casting, Voldemort included. Snape was especially well done, and the three main characters were all superbly selected. Besides, his voice wasn't even high. :?
In the books it says he has a high voice, but I haven't seen the 4th or 5th movie (because the books are better), so I didn't know if it was or not (I should have guessed it wasn't, they've strayed from the storyline before).

I went to he midnight showing wearing a stormtrooper mask. I havent read the books but the movie pissed me off. Harry was a whiny little emo and it was just painful to watch no one say anything to that new teacher. Honestly why didnt someone punch her in the face or drop an f bomb? do wizards not have balls?

They may not have made this clear in the movie, but in the book she was, administratively-speaking, all-powerful. Nobody could mess with her because with a word she could fire them, kick them out of school, or actually shut the school down.

But if you felt that way about her, then it sounds to me like the movie did its job.

I thought the best two parts of the rather lackluster movie were:
1. Voldemort: He looks awesome, he's always got that non-chalant feel about him.
2. Harry's insecurity throughout the movie, he looked mentally ill until people started believing him.

Anyways, so much small stuff was cut from the movie, I was rather disappointed, the book was better.
Overall, it was just another ordinary movie about magical people (the usual effects and crap).

They didn't focus on Sirius' death, I don't think a collective 2 minutes was spent on what was supposed to be a main point of this year/book/movie/whatever.

I wish they had Harry go bezerk in Dumbledore's office. :(

If you guys are complaining about his emo traits, you shouldn't read the fifth book. Just read it a few days back and Harry is so confused and emo it's heartbreaking.

Hermione is smokin' hot! What's her real name again?

Anyway, just got back from the show. I liked it. I mean, it wasn't the best movie I've ever seen, (my favourite movie being Brick -- Jones, if you haven't yet seen it, I highly recommend it! The way it's written is simply brilliant. And I'll insert this plug shamelessly any time ;) ) but it was good nonetheless. I honestly can't even remember the book having read it so long ago... maybe I should pick it up again sometime and reread it.

I give it a fairly solid 8/10.
