PS3 Price Drop to be Short Lived

The main theory on this that is going around right now is that Sony wants to unload the more expensive 60 gigers quickly and then drop the 80gig price after all of the 60 gigs are gone. It makes sense, If they released the 80gig at $499 as well as the 60 gig, who would actually buy the 60gigs?
