I did this awhile ago for my cousin

He was born with a stump on one of this arms and he use to play PSX but of course there where a lot of games he couldnt play so i built him a 1 handed controller i just used a old joystick and drilled 4 holes in the righthand side (he's left handed) and mounted the 4 psx buttons the square triangle etc

then i used the top firing button to have 4 buttons L1 L2 then on the right side of it R1 R2

and start and select where on the base of the joystick i used one of my old ones from the commodore 64 a quickshot i think it was

It worked quite well for the games that didn't use all the buttons basiclly anyone could play easily if R2 and L2 where not used if they where then it was harder

the square and triangle etc are on the side of the joystick so when the hand is wrapped arpound it the 4 fingers rest on the buttons and the thumb is used for L1 L2 R1 R2

Good luck guys. I would enter my super-secret already-built Revision 3 controller but as mentioned, we're keeping it under wraps until it's protected.

OOOOHHHHH! This Contest is a great idea, count me in. :D I'm already making a single-handed PC controller so I can eat lunch and play OoT on PJ64 at the same time. Maybe I could make a GC controller designed for the feet as I can already play MK: Double Dash with both of them, but it would be nice to be able to reach the shoulder buttons, so that would be cool!
But even if I win, give the prize to the runner up as I'm doing this for fun and to see if I can actually win a contest.

Cadis cadum edit: When are the majority of us going to use a one handed controller??
When we are eating / on the can?

Well maybe some of us will make a 2nd one. So we can play first player and 2nd player at once.

I might try my hand at a gamecube controller.

And I think contest #3 should be a Wiigun, for RE4: Wii Edition; mostly because the metroid game doesn't come out for about , oh 5 months.
Why is it that every time I post in a thread, it dies?

I have an idea. It involves no thumbs. Of course, it's a NES controller because I don't have a SNES one and have no extra money to spend.

It could come in handy for people with very limited hand mobility, as long as their wrist goes up and down and they can twist their arm a little.
Hey, sup?

You use the knee to use the D-Pad and you fingers for the four buttons. Made with legos, electrical tape and a budget of $0.00!
