Uhh Hold on. Im watching badboys 2.

Ya Im downloading. It seems to be taking a while. Mines just at 1%. But my internets slow today. So it maybe just my internet.

EDIT: Nevermind. I'm at 3%. Download works.

EDIT2: Warning. Rumour has it that the Blue Dragon Demo is here for a short time only. Get it while you can. Joystiq said on July 5th that the demo would come out on the 20th and leave on august 3rd. Now we got the demo on the 11th, so the leaving date may NOT be the same. Download it before it goes. I say it will leave around July 25th.

For those who are fans of the Smash Bros. games...

SSBB is coming out 12/3/07.

I was excited to get the one for Gamecube, but never was able to get into it. Although I've been told it is more fun with a group of people playing. Oh well. I know people like it so there it is. A mere 4.5 months or so away.

I'll have to be sure and pull down the Blue Dragon demo when I get home then.

Looks like Super Mario Galaxy is coming on Nov. 12. This one could be good and one that I actually won't mind trying out when it arrives although it's been a long time since a Mario game held my interest. :(

Is it just me, or is E3 seeming pretty tame so far? MS didn't really have any big announcements and neither has Nintendo thus far although their presentation is still in process. They announced the Wii Zapper, but that's not that big of a shock really. Sony already let their cat out of the bag with the price drop, so it's looking more and more like a pretty uneventful E3.

I suppose it is unrealistic to expect them to knock our socks off every time out. In addition, with information getting out earlier and earlier all the time E3's relevance seems to be getting more and more diminished. Still fun, but not quite what it once was.

I must get a 360 for Halo 3. The Master Chief finally gets a chain gun (turret), whats cooler than that? Does it have unlimited ammo, I never got to play the beta? I can't figure out why the rims are so big on the Mongoose, that would make it ride so bad, you would feel every pebble, and they look like poo.

Main points of the Microsoft press conference (for me):

Bioshock trailers. Although I don't think they showed a single gameplay shot, the plot and graphics look really cool, kinda Halo-ish, but I'm not 100% sure it's a FPS. What is it? My friend claims it's an RPG.

Reggie Bush whooping Jeff Bell's ass at Madden or whatever. 'I'm not even watching Jeff, I'm not even watching!'

Err, what is the point of RockBand? Don't we already have a GuitarHero? Does anybody want to buy a drumset for a game?

That Gears of War guy getting his ass kicked when showing off a campaign level. He ends it early, "You can see the result next year!'

The first Halo 3 trailer was really cool, IMHO multiplayer will in H3 will not be a great new thing, rather the campaign will be what everyone is talking about, especially if you can play co-op over XBL.

Assassin's Creed demo. Looked pretty buggy, but the gameplay/plot was really original and cool.

EDIT: @vskid: No, the chaingun runs out of ammo, but it takes a while. You also move slower when you carry it, and IIRC you can't jump as high.

Heh.

I agree about E3 seeming "tamer" than in previous years. Maybe it's just because this is the first year in a while without the companies showing off their new hardware (assuming Sony doesn't have a PSPlite up their sleeve). Most of the games at the Microsoft and Nintendo conferences were either games we've already known quite a bit about for awhile (Bioshock, Halo, Rock Band, SSBB, Mario), or new games with absolutely nothing about them (Mario Kart Wii).

EDIT: Whoa! Wii Fit. I'm not getting it, but it'll make news and sell a ridiculous amount, I'm guessing (similar to Brain Age).

Too bad there wasn't anything about fire emblem for Wii.
Why is it that every time I post in a thread, it dies?

Duudee. BLUE DRAGON DEMO KICKS ASS. I pulled off 2 "Coperals" (?) at one time. A coperal is basically a limit break or overdrive.

I think that's a fair assessment. Of course the sexy stuff is always the new hardware and what we can expect the new generation of games to look like on it. This is definitely a part of the lack of excitement this year.

Although, I must say and have said before (in one of the podcasts I think) that these companies are getting ridiculously peripheral happy. Of course it's a great way for these companies to make money, but Jesus! The 360, Wii, and PS3 all have Rock Band and Guitar Hero of course which are their own beast of course. But now we also have the SceneIt game for the 360 coming with 4 "tailor-made" controllers for the game and the already mentioned Qwerty device (which admittedly I will probably buy at some point). This is not to mention all of the Halo-themed controllers and the console itself.

Then there's Nintendo with the Zapper for gun games, a new wheel for the Mario Kart game, and the pad for Wii Fit. I can't wait to see what new peripherals Sony is going to pull out of their hat.

I don't know why, but this is just bugging the hell out of me anymore. Peripherals have always been around, but it just seems to be getting more and more rampant this gen. Of course we don't have to buy them, but in some cases the peripheral does come with the game.

This might just end up hailing the return of the toy box to the living room to have a place to store all of this crap. :?

PSPlite (not actually called that): "It's 33% lighter, 19% slimmer, and the battery is much improved." And it's got TV-out. And probably homebrew-resistant.

And they had Chewbacca introduce a Star Wars PSP pack. Chewy owns.
