What did everybody do for the Fourth (US people anyway)? All I did was have a friend over and we took pictures of the fireworks from my back yard.

Awesome pictures! Too bad the only fireworks around my house are the ones we set off. :( We only have one mortar left, so we didnt use it.

We just had family over for a BBQ.

I didn't do much yesterday, had a lunch with my family and some friend by the grill. The pictures below were taken on Friday, during the new Stars and Stripes festival.

Those are nothing. My buddies Adam and Mike got $400 worth of fireworks :D

The 2 last fireworks, set off car alarms and woke everyone up.

They were called "Big Bang" and "La Bomba something"

The bigbang hurt my ears so much, that I still cant hear right, and La Bomba is like 100 strobes at once. (Strobes are small flares. They hurt your eyes a lot.)

So yea, My eyes and ears hurt.

We can't have fireworks in my state. :( Instead we have a "coffee can cannon". It's a tower of coffee cans, mostly open inside, that you spray aerosol engine starter fluid and compressed air into. If you get the mix right you'll get a pretty good bang out of it. (You know you've got a good one when you feel the concussion wave and the ground shake 30 feet away.) Of course you have to wear ear plugs and the big headset hearing protection to use it safely...

It's also fun to take a hammer to a box of caps.

The only fireworks we saw were on the Pops concert. (They only broadcast half of it nationally, so we got to see more than you did. :P I think Blue Man Group was on the local broadcast.) My town's fire department is doing a big fireworks show next weekend in conjunction with their annual carnival; I'll see about getting some pictures and/or video of the fireworks.

Up until last year, my family went to my grandpa's farm and set of a bunch of awesome fireworks. It's so much more fun than just watching them. Then my grandpa died from lung cancer (he smoked most of his life). This year, I went to my friend's house and illegally shot off a bunch of bottle rockets in very dangerous, unorthodox, but fun ways.

I sold pop for a scout fundraiser and then hung out with a couple girls I like and watched fireworks.
