I've narrowed it down to a Cyclowiz V2, Wiikey, or Wiikey Clone (Same Hardware, Same Software, No Wiikey Sticker.....lol)
Now I chose these because they are Quicksolder Modchips. I'm also thinking - Can I install this? I know two of the points are super easy, but the 3 (Cyclowiz) or 4 (Wiikey/Clone) are smaller and kind of close. I was thinking of simply putting tape over all of the solder pads on the Wii except the one I'm soldering to the chip. Good idea? Bad?
I've watched so many videos and it does look easier to install the Wiikey/Clone due to larger Pads on the Chip itself. I'm just not sure I want to risk it. Lets put it this way, It costs 9 bucks for a Wiikey Clone + 4 bucks for shipping. It costs 40 bucks for install and 30 bucks for a Wiikey/Cyclowiz (The only chips installers want to install apparently)
$13 for Wiikey Clone including Shipping
$75 for Wiikey/Cyclowiz including Shipping
As you can see, theres a HUGE savings if i install it myself, and I'm about 60% towards doing it myself but also leaning towards letting an installer do it. Also, I have a time limit of 35 days from Order to receiving the Wii because of Vacation to Myrtle Beach (My Parents want me to bring it a long for the weel so my family, my cousins and my aunt and uncle can play)
Anyone care to persuade me one way or another? Anyone install any Wii Modchips yet? Have some tips? Hopefully this isn't breaking the rules (It shouldn't because people post about Xbox mods a lot.) Anyway, thanks in advance
