Just saw it tonight. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, but it was still pretty bad. When the screen said "In assosciation with Hasbro", everyone chuckled, then when they started talking about "The Cube", it was just hysterical. But at the end of the day, they still made Bumblebee a freaking Camaro. Come on.

I like the DS game a lot.

I've also started *trying* to watch the transformers series again, and I now understand that transformers is beyond awful. There's no other way to say it, but it's one of the worst shows I've ever seen and I used to think I liked it.
If the movie is true to the cartoon, it will be awful, and if varies from the cartoon, everybody will complain. Not a good place to be if you're trying to make a movie.

I think I'll wait for DVD...rip...

I liked it, mostly because it was transformers. I kinda wish the camera angles didnt make most of the fight scenes impossible to watch.

I'm going today with Ben and one of his roommates. Should be a good time.

@CTfan - I was upset about Bumblebee being made into a Camaro until I found out why. Apparently they approached Volkswagen about it originally, but they said no because they don't want their product in anything depicting war. So basically the producers had no choice, but to change Bumblebee to something else unless they would have just not put him in the movie altogether. Once I found out why the change was made, I no longer had a problem with it. Also, I heard that Jazz is in it, but now he's a Pontiac Solstice instead of a Porsche. I imagine this change was made for similar reasons, but haven't heard anything concrete with regard to that.

Meh, I guess that makes it a bit better, but still kinda weak. It really woulda been cool to see Bumblebee be a good 'ol bug again!

Now that I look back on it, Prime was actually a total pussy the whole movie. I mean, he only fought like twice, and the fight between him and Megatron was really, REALLY anti-climactic. Did anyone else find the same thing?

This thread is full of fail.

The movie kicked ass, the transformations were copulate amazing, I left the theatre with what seemed like a permanent grin on my face.

One of my minor tiffs with the film was how impatient they made Optimus out to be.
Oh, and did anyone notice how the TFs were <i>always</i> CGI'd? Even in vehicle-mode scenes where there were no transformations. The beat-up Camaro Bumblebee and Optimus had <i>real</i> vehicles for vehicle mode, everyone else was computer generated.

Other than that, pretty much everything else was damned good.

But after six series's of utter garbage (Beast Machines, RID, Armada, Energon, Cybertron, and the forth-coming Animated) this movie really brought the show out of the 12 and under age group.

Oh, and everyone laughed at the Hasbro line in my theatre too. I don't think a lot of them realize that Hasbro has been the American toy manufacturer of Transformers products since the beginning.

Nice job guys, the movie was awesome.

I'm going to see it again in the next few days.

In another <2 years I hope to see a sequel, if Fantastic Four and Superman Returns can get 'em, this can get like five.

I think they could EASILY remove an hour of the movie and it'd be a lot better for it.

Totally agree. If anything, it was ridiculously long. I can understand a movie that needs to be long being long, like, say, The Good Shepherd, but Transformers? No.

I've got to say, I had some pretty low expectations for the movie, and was fairly impressed with the work that was done. But I feel a bit bad for those poor parents who took their kids to that...

I didn't care for the chaotic fight scenes, and I didn't care for the 'human character' developent. The film could have used some tightening around those kids. The original series gave the humans about 5 minutes of intro...

The worst thing is that if we wait until it's out on DVD, they'll throw in some "director's cut" garbage and it will actually get longer.
