CONTRA 4
It's about damn time...
I love contra, and cant wait!!! Im surpirsed this hasnt been a topic yet. I suppose benheck can predict the future, first he guessed the dirty dancing game, then he said that a good series to come back would be a "good contra game". this looks pretty good.

hard to say if it looks good from the lack of screenshots, but if the last 10-15 years worth of contra games are any indication, this will be yet another waste.
run and guns aren't as popular as they could be anymore and sadly, all but the earliest contras have actually been about the worst of what's left of the genre. Sorry to sound so down, but I gave up on contra long ago. At least we have metal slug and alien hominid. They generally surpass even the best of the contras anyway.
edit: here's a video looks like the snes one that I didn't care for, but at least it's not 3d. more vids: (link, link & link)

You can count me in as someone who's been looking forward to a good old-fashioned Contra sequel. From the video I've seen it looks like it's shaping up to do the franchise proud.
Now, Hard Corps...
It's interesting. I got to play the game again recently not too long ago. I remember it being a lot harder. Huh. I don't remember if I can claim beating it on one life, but I sure as hell didn't need the Konami code.benheck wrote:Oh yeah I'll buy this. And yes, I can beat Contra 1 on the NES without even DYING. Forget the cheats!

wait, you're kidding right? that's what makes the game fun. Not a big shooter fan, I take it. The good ones are always one hit kills.Dr. KillGood wrote:I was playing contra and...
YOU DIE IN ONE screw HIT?!?!?!?![]()
I'm a Super C man myself. Can get to the last level without dying but I've never finished it without 2 players or cheating. Something about Super C would just flow better with me.
Actually I think I need to go to the game store and get a fresh copy today.
now metal slug 4 was *hard.*
