I've never played Halo 2, but I know it's definitely not dead.

Here's a link that shows that it is still the highest played original Xbox game and last I knew it was one of the highest played titles overall when combining 360 and original Xbox games.

When i still had my 360 their was not a moment where nobody at all was online it was packed 24/7. So i can't tell yeah why that happened. Perhaps it was a glitch of some sort?

I just got back from system linking at my friend's house, 7 people, 4 on his huge screen (ghetto HD projector, 180 inches of glory 5 feet in front of you). Halo 2 is so fun to system link or have 4 people on one Xbox playing on Live. Once we played CTF with a neutral flag on Live, so 4 of us in the same room on the same team against four poor souls, we pwned, it was so fun, my favorite game ever.

Nothing like playing on a big screen eh :). One time at my friends house we played gears of war with surround sound and a gigantic projector you could actually tell where the locust were coming from with the surround it was insane.

He has surround sound, but the effect is kinda lost when its from 4 points of view. Watching movies on the screen is almost hard, its so big you have to move your head sometimes. He made the projector out of a rear projection HDTV someone was throwing out because the mirror was broken, so it has to hang right in the middle of the room for it to not keystone and that. Its not bad considering a similar commercial theater setup would cost several thousand dollars, and he got most of the stuff for cheap or free.

Yeah Halo 2 is still a good game. Halo 3 looks pretty cool, it's pretty much the same game but better looking, and with a few new features. Halo 1 is the best though, except for maybe the pistol and a few other things.

A lot of 360's sometimes fail to load maps. Leaving the pregame lobby then coming back sometimes fixes it, other times you have to completely reboot. Your 360 is fine, it's a normal problem. The new maps are okay, the Hang em High remake is pretty cool, the other one not so much. Basically whoever can get to the noob weapons first wins; they should definitely take rocket launchers out of that map. Swat and sniping is fun on it though.

Halo 2 multiplayer scene is nowhere close to dead. It'll be going for a longgg time.
