I'm getting pissed off for images not uploading for me.

Is there a way to use off-site images?
hmmm your png files dont work but other people are having no problems uploading jpgs, what ever shall we do!    USE JPGS!  in all seriousness if you use a decent program to convert to jpgs (not paint, i use irfanview its small free and works great) there is almost no loss of quality . yes if you use crap software or bad settings they will look like crap.

i think that the people who will be on the wiki, adding a lot of info should be the mods for the wiki.

Good

@ Triton, I don't install a lot of stuff on my Computer, besides, It would probably make itself the default Image Viewer and I'd have to change it. Crappy images fine atm, but i wish .pngs for me would work.

@ghosstt: i made a small edit on the screens. I just basically realigned something so it was more organized. Just thought I should tell you.

it asks you if you want it to be default, even lists every type of image it can handle wit a check box so you can make it default for everything or nothing or somewhere inbetween and i think the whole program including the plugin pack is under a few mb lol

I've started work on the NOAC section. At the moment, all I've done is copied and pasted the text from my NOAC document into the Wiki page, and changed some of the formatting. Pictures/links will come soon, it's going to take me quite a long time to get it all perfect.

ok, so the site has now been locked down from anonymous, if you are not logged in you will not even see the edit link.

as long as you are logged in, you should have full functionality.

i will be looking into the moderator situation further and adding those as necessary. my new thoughts on this are as long as you can tell us, ben or myself, what you need mod access for, specifically what you cannot do as a normal user, then it’s all yours, but if you can do everything you need to as the normal user, what’s the big deal.? hell i don’t even know what it gives you for access/permission that you do not already have. i really do not see a need into making it so only mods can edit every page right now outside of having to add unnecessary entries and non wiki-standard permission in the configuration file. more input on this situation is definitely welcome.

i have also added php functionality into the wiki pages. to use this just use the following tags: <PHP> ... </PHP>

one last thing to consider will be the session timeout that is set on the server. "session.gc_maxlifetime = " in the php.ini, i believe the default is 1440 and is set by php5. this means that sessions open for more then 1440 seconds (24 minutes) it will be dropped. this means you only have a 24 minute to make your edits. has anyone run into problems with this..? i will check into this setting on the server and confirm its value.

also, if there is anyone else that is interested in the core configuration and administration of the wiki, please let us know. all you will need to do is prove you can install a fully functional wikimedia portal and we'll go from there. if you need the ftp space and sql database access to do this test, let me know, i have 10 sql instances available from my hosting provider.

alright guys, thanks to this fourm, i cannot stop until i reach vista..!!! after being spoiled with that macro, this flexicon $#!+ gets old quick..! i digress…

We should hack our little 2+2 mod into the signup page. It seems to have helped with the forums. Between that and not allowing anonymous edits the spam should be easier to control.

I feel silly for asking this, but I don't even know how to create an account - I can't seem to figure it out. I see a page for logging in, but not for creating an account.
