Now I'm gonna try this one more time...and I'll be glad to be a mod

ip '75.167.26.136' has been banned. i will be tightening down the wiki. i think it would be a good idea to make anyone who wants it a mod, hell even if everyone on this forum wants to be a mod, that should be fine.
i am confirming with ben to make sure this is ok. once i get the go ahead then i'll start making anyone that requests it a mod.
looks good so far.
i'm pretty sure this is not the case. i was able to upload and post a .png file.ghosstt wrote:i think i figured out what is wrong with the image. im pretty sure it has to be jpeg. like almost 100% sure because i uploaded one here

please, anyone who is having an issue uploading a file, e-mail me the file you are trying to upload, that way i can see it fail and diagnose/debug it further. i have a feeling it might still have some MIME type issues or file size/resolution issues. there are programmatic overrides i can add to the wiki's config if this is the case.
i'm not sure when i'll get around to locking it down and setting up the mods, but for now, please be patient.

to clarify
for as long as ben is cool with it, anyone who requests mod status in this form thread will be a mod, simple as that.
if you have already requested it in this thread you're good to go, i will be re-reading the thread for the information i need after i lock it down.
this will not happen until, by the earliest, midnight tonight. otherwise, depending on how tempting half price margaritas and not having to get up for work gets, tomorrow by noon for sure.
keep in mind this is to be able to post, edit, and delete content and upload any files on anyone’s page. anonymous users will no longer have edit access.
all we ask in return of having mod-level access is to be respectful to other peoples content (ask them before doing major edits) and try to avoid making site-wide changes.
to keep things more useful, indexable, and accurately searchable, feel free to correct format and spelling/grammer errors. the better we can make this look, the more effective it will be.
if you have any suggestions regarding changes to the wiki feel free to e-mail ben or myself.

i believe they can until you tighten the security on the entire wiki portal through the config file. then you can also state that just moderators can edit any page, and that the user who created a page can edit just their page.
i think you can also give anonymous new content and new page access.
this is only the 2nd wiki i've installed/config'd/and admin'd (the first being a personal project).
if anyone has any suggestions/recommendations as to the installation, configuration (specifically performance optimizations), and administration of the benheck.com wiki, please, post it here or email ben or myself.
so i guess to answer your question better: you will be able to edit any page and make other changes (exact changes unknown). and yes members can do that already, until i make the change so that only mods can change any, and members can add new (content and pages).
maybe handing out mod priv like candy isn't a good idea, and just preventing anonymous posting is the solution. after further thought, the locking down of a wiki is almost defeating the purpose of a wiki. what are your thoughts on this ben, current mods in the forums, whomever..? feel free to e-mail or pm me if you do not want to post it in this thread.
i did learn today tho, that the answer to everything is indeed 42. seriously, i didn't get it until today. yikes..! should i even admit such a thing..?

Also, I don't think you should give moderator status to all that many people. Maybe a max of 5ish? I don't want to be one; I'm content with just occasionally adding/editing info.

not sure why it's not working for you.
can you give the exact error..?
for now if you want, just dump them here and i'll upload them.
ftp://benheckwiki:wikibenheck@madcompro.com/
we might be able to add another directory on the benheck.com ftp server too but it should still work for you.
is anyone else having uploading issues..? if so please post them.
