Laptop Screen Help

I'm modding an old laptop I got a few weeks ago. I'm putting it in a binder and decided to LED mod it. While taking apart the screen assembly, I think I messed up one of the ribbons going to the screen (it has ribbons and boards on 3 sides of the glass). Now the bottom 1/4th (and maybe the top 1/8th) of the screen don't come up or are screwy. I noticed if I pushed on the side ribbons that it would change what the respective rows displayed, and a couple times I even got the correct image to come up.
So is the any method to trying to fix this, or am I on my own and possibly screwed?

It is nearly impossible to fix a broken ffc. There are some companies that will do it for $75 or so. But other than that it's nearly impossible.

Yeah, that's gonna be damn hard to fix. You could go crazy and trace all the pins and solder to them but it's really not worth it. What size is the monitor? I got 2 here that I pulled from some old laptops (around 03) that maybe would work? I know compatibility is unlikely but hey ya never know.. Anyway if you send me a pic of yours and mine is similar I can send it to ya.

Thanks for the offer, but this thing is old. I can't find a date anywhere on it, but I'm guessing its from 95 to 97. The screen is about 8" and a Sharp. If you still think you have one, I'll go look at the screen model number.
Not really much of a loss, it was only $7, and it couldn't really do anything either.

never thought to do video in a binder, i've done audio before, video would be prety cool
