I'm lvl 28 now, and I found a really nice UI mod called Spartan UI. It's really nice looking. Here's a screenshot of it:

I've never played WoW, mainly because I don't want what little life I have to vanquish, not to mention I don't wanna pay. :P Though some of my friends have it, and one is completely addicted; it's actually kinda creepy how much time this game takes from people! I'd much rather ride my bike or go swimming during the day than be sucked into the dark abyss.

The main reason people I know don't want to play WoW is the fact that it does cost money to play. Usually if they come over and play it tho, they go out and buy it

And actually, two people I know are actually getting WoW soon, one is today

I just started playing a few weeks ago, but my trial's up, so I'm currently waiting on a hard copy of the game and the expansion (if I'm going to pay for it, then I might as well have a physical version of the game, damn it!). It's pretty good, though I don't see why it's life-ruiningly addictive for anyone. I mean, it's not that good. Final Fantasy VIII, now there's a game that I could really wrap my hands around and ruin my life with.

Edit: I have a level five Tauren Warrior named Ecksecutor (who I'm probably going to delete, since I was just screwing around with that particuar character when I first started), a level three Undead Rogue named Eckscessum (who I'm also probably going to delete, since I just created that character to show a friend around who was venturing out of the world of first person shooters for the first time), and a level six (or seven, or eight, or possibly nine, I'm not sure which) Night Elf Rogue whose name eludes me and whom I can't check on at the moment because Cho'Gall is down for maintenance. Anyway, my characters' names will almost always start with "Ecks" and be some variation on a Latin word that starts with "ex", so I guess, I don't know, say "Hi" or something if you see me.

Just to let you guys know. When you download the Trial you in effect have the whole game. The only thing that is different is your account, of which you can change it to a full game status easy. Also you can download the expansion as well now, though I personally bought a copy as insurance in case I have to reinstall (I also copied the install file to a DVD).

As for characters you want to delete. You don't really have to think their messed up or useless really. Until you hit level 10 and start investing skill points you don't have to worry as the only thing you're changing are the equitable items. Personally I've only recreated a character fully once and I had damn good reasons (unable to reach areas with things my level).

Also for anyone that is going to try out the game. Warriors are the simplest classes, then rouges, mage, warlock, hunter, shaman, druid, priest and then pally. This is my take, and most people I game with would agree.

Why do you say Paladins are so hard?

For starters they're strictly only a melee class, they don't get any ranged attacks until later and then the only one I know of requires the enemy be at 20% life for you to use it. Second is that they are healers and so are held to a high regard in that. They're looked at as tanks when non is available. They have to do quests to obtain their level 40 and 60 mounts (unsure about 70 mount).

Pally's spected in holy blow through mana quickly, sometimes faster then a mage. Protection leaves them very shorted handed as far as attacks go. Retribution is the best middle ground for most to take 'til they hit 65-70, because they can go in and be heavy hitters without sacrificing mana, armor or healing.

Further a pally leveling on his own is much like a warrior. The big difference is that while a warrior can pull with a ranged weapon a pally can not (unless they have engineering). This means they have to take more blows, heal themselves and sometime even use their "bubble" to save themselves.

As I've seen a pally is treated as a best of both worlds. Their looked at as a warrior to tank for players with less armor, and them expected to heal like a priest. This is not easy even if one roll is taken. Pallys can grab the agrro like warriors, pets or minions, and their healing is only comparable to a priest when spected to holy.

Run one is not easy.

If you want an idea of how much it sucks to run a class that is asked a lot of try a druid. They can rouge, tank, heal and cast. It's a class I put up there that I'm having to still figure out at level 32.
