Take a pic of the pinouts ? If I can't help I'm sure ifyou put that in the portable screen hacking forums you would get help. (That's if you can't get it to work)

I thought you couldn't use dvd player screens for portables.

hope this is what you mean the grey is the screen the other plug is the power the coored one. and the grey strip is the backlight

Hmmmm... well I know you can solder directly to the traces on some. Does that screen have a video in thing? If it does it would be allot easier, go ask in the portable screen hacking forums, and hope that screen will work.

Oh I almost forgot. is that mother board behind the screen, or in the main part it self? If its in the main part it won't work no matter what you do

Not entirely, what size is the screen? If its a common size you might be able to buy a screen that fits in there.

5 inches wide 3 inches tall

Take the screen size from the diagonals next time, that's what screen measures are in. It sounds like that may be a decent normal size, and I'm thinking a $85 ps2 screen will fit in there perfectly, which would mean you dont even need to screw around with making the screen work on the [S2, just hook take the wires like normal

Well I looked, and that screen is a 6" so if your good with a dremel cut out the window a very small bit on all sides, and pop a 7" PS2 joytech screen.

Before you waste money tho try to find the screen at a store, and take it apart and check the size of the board behind it, if its to big, return it. If the 7" ps2 screen doesn't work, or you don't want to pay that much, get a ps1 5.4" screen, or the 5" screen and dremel out plastic bits to fill in the cracks along the sides of the screen, and the lcd.

ok i didnt really look in the screen housing to see if there is a motherboard. but the screen housing is screwed shut and glued so if i opened it it would break and i dont want a crappy lo0oking ps2 laptop. so i'm just gnna leave the dvd player alone and look for another route. maybe i'll get another dvd player

Well it's very very rare that a dvd player screen will work, the best idea, is a custom built case, with a 7" ps2 screen. Vac-forming tends to be pretty cheap.
Take a look in the case construction forums for help on that.

You have to think before you post, and also not pretend you know what you are talking about. Ive seen you tell like 4 people that it is impossible for them to make some project. Well it might be impossible for you (you appear to be about 11) but some people around here are actually good at this stuff, and plenty of people have made a ps2 or n64 etc. as their first portable. Around here, we dont tell people that they cant do something when they ask a question about it. we just answer the question and offer them helpful advice.

Im not trying to flame you or anything (much), but someone needed to tell you this. Just tone it down a bit ok?

Tape them together with duct tape and plug the PS2 into the DVD player. >:D.
