I don't know... sliced open an A/V jack from some Nintendo console (the A/V jacks are all the same), and when I connect the wires to the appropriate spots on the board nothing happens I'm making a Genesis portable anyway, so I think I'm just going to make it using an RGB plug, but still...

You've got to be doing something wrong, the Genesis 3 outputs composite video natively. Just solder to the correct pin, mine was working like a charm before the screen decided to be difficult.
And thanks for the compliments, Sky! I will be finishing up this case in the next couple of days, as I really do like it, but the guts may take a while, seeing as if this Genesis is dead and this screen is not going to work, I'll need some cash to replace them, and perhaps someone to wire this up for me. Not that I couldn't do it, I just hate losing money!

Meh, probably something to do with using a Nintendo A/V jack. I'll try using G-Force's tutorial later. Although I didn't do anything with the grounds...

Well, if you're running the units off of 2 separate PSUs, that shouldn't be a problem; but if you aren't, then you'll need to tie up your ground lines somewhere.
A bit of an update, I just bought a Genesis 3 from Ebay for a mere $20 shipped, and I'm bidding on a screen. Now all I need is someone to do the dirty work for me!

Thanks! And I *would* have had an awesome deal on the screens, FOUR HipGears for $20! But, having pulled an all-nighter last night, I fell asleep this afternoon and missed the auction's end by 3 minutes. Oh well, hopefully I can find one somewhere. Anyone wanna help a guy out?
Thanks for the kind words, guys. I've commissioned our very own G-Force to do a good chunk of the wiring on this baby; not because I can't do it myself, but it seems every time I touch a HipGear, something goes wrong with it, and my wallet can't afford to keep buying new ones. From now on, I stick to PSOne screens!
