Ah, also are led amp / volt meters that hard to do?

I am lazy!

Well, not lazy, just a little inexperenced with power supplies.

If i used an in-expensive AC adapter, then rectified it myself, that would be cheaper right? I would need a REGULATER power supply, as i am doing that myself.

LED ones require the LED driver version of the comparator IC, while LCD ones use the more common LCD driver version (IIRC I have 2 3.5 digit and 1 4.5 digit version ICs). You can get the meter for ~$12 through jameco, or go cheaper and get a low quality multimeter and trace/hack it.

Nice, i think i want a max of 14v though, i might draw up a circuit tonight, and run it past you guys.

Can someone help me with current shunts? I am not 100% sure what i am doing with them, thanks. And current limiting? Yes, i did google it.
