XBOX update

i got the xbox to boot with the new dvd drive, but it brings up the "you need service screen" what should i do from here? im not sure if its the hd or the bios or what, but any help would be greatly appreciated. I intend to make this xbox a laptop. I have another xbox i could use, if all hope is lost. Any good places to get an xbox keyboard, or anybody want to loan me one?
