GC Controller Port PCB - Shrinkified! (Pics + Video)

As the title says, I've been messing around with all things GC at the moment, and today I had a look at the controller port PCB. I've managed to shrink it to about half it's original size, and it's only about 1 inch at its thickest. You can basically chop off the whole top of the board, which gets rid of the battery, the power LED and the reset switch. You can also chop off a bit at the bottom. The pics are pretty self explanitory. I thought this might be useful for a GC portable or laptop (seeing as GC laptops are all the rage at the moment). I also uploaded a video showing the PCB connected and working.

ya i cut mine down so it would fit, relocated the battery too, wasnt too hard lol

Yup, all in all it was pretty easy. I just left mine without the battery, still works fine.

Keeping the time and menu settings? I think it's more menu-based for people who use the gamecube for...um...

The battery keeps settings saved like the System Configuration on the PS2. But yer all it does really is save settings or in Gameboy games saves the file, like open a gameboy game and take out the battery then the game won't save so long story short.... It saves data. Cheers^_^

I'll relocate the battery somewhere else, it's just useful that you can chop off the whole top section of the board.

The memory card ports are actually attached to the GC motherboard. The port board is completely separate and detachable

The table I use to work is our old kitchen table, which we still use from time to time. My parents didn't want it to get damaged/soldered/glued/burnt/sliced, so I just shoved a few plastic mats on top to protect it. That's what those polkadot things are
