Thrustmaster 5" screen - LED mod?

Hiya.

I have a Thrustmaster 5" screen and I'm wondering if anyone has LED modded any of these because I don't know where to draw power for the LED's, or where I can find the ground.
I've taken out the lightbulb and there is only 2 sides along the screen to put LED's inside the box. Is this enough space to light up the screen?
I can upload pics of the boards when I get home from work if that helps.

Find the 7805 IC and use the drawing for reference. Also I think 2 leds of, say, 10000 mcd gives enough brightness. Hope info helps.

In addition, it's better if you send some photos of the mobo.

It doesn't seem to have the 7805 IC..

Don't worry. You needn't get 5Volts from the screen's mobo. You can get it from your game console's(whatever it is) 7805 IC or simply create a seperate 7805.

I would rather get the juice from the console, which is a PSone btw.
So that means I can draw it from the 78M05, with the second connector being ground and the third being 5 V. Am I right?

Sure.
First I need to get some new LED's, but the store I'm ordering from don't have 10 000 mcd LED's, would two 20 000 mcd draw too much juice and make large annoying bright spots on the edge of the screen? Or should I go with four 6000 mcd ones?

I can't buy from ebay, I have the wrong kind of credit card (no internet use).
But I looked around some more and I found a shop near me that sells 3mm, 10 000 mcd leds.
I'll get a bunch of those!

Is the small piece of circuit in the first picture the inverter for the flourescent? If so, does the screen work witout that circuit when led modded?

I actually wondered that myself and was going to ask later if it's a similiar piece of board that can be removed just like on the PSone screen. Guess I'll find it out after I've LED modded the screen, currently waiting for them to arrive.

I'm not familiar with "inverter for flourescent", could you explain it for me?

yeah it did. So that means I can discard that then, nice.
This mobo will be much smaller than the PSone then, I think

EDIT:
I've started modding the screen but of course I had to break it..

The part was thin as aluminium foil and there is a connection failure right now. I'll post pics of it when I get the time, maybe someone has a good way of fixing it.
