Type of screen...

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

Type of screen...

Post by Skiggy »

Hi guys, I'm considering making a gamecube portable and from what I have heard the intec screen is somewhat thick. With the gamecube going to be thick already adding a thick screen isn't ideal for me. So, what screens did you guys use in your portables?

a lot of people use the PSone screen. I'm not quite sure how thick it is, but a quick google search or search on the forums and I'm sure you can find out. And because so many people have used them in their portables you can get a lot of help on the forums for them.

I would like to use a psone screen for that reason, but it seems they are either pretty expensive or uncommon. I would love a link to a place I can get a psone screen for under $50 (Ebay doesn't count -_-).

ebay's pretty well the only place to get psone screens.

they are maybe 1/4" thick. less than 1/2".

I found my PSOne screen by freak chance at a GameTrader for $40.

This will be the 3rd time I've plugged my thread in about 10 minutes, but check out this screen. It might actually be too big, but it's only about 3/4" thick or so.
