gamecube portable first attempt
not sure if this is possible or not but im looking for my case to be around:
1" - 1 1/2" thick
6" - 7" long
4" - 5" wide
is it possible for the game cube to be shrunk down so it can fit in a case this size? If yes, how? If no, what is the smallest case it can fit into?
Also looking to power the portable with batteries (duh), can anyone help me on how to do this?
thanks

no it cant be done. minimum dimensions would be about 10"x6"x2.5" possibly thinner if you relocate the disc drive but really really hard.

2.5" is for a regular portable not a laptop, with a laptop the thinnest you could get it would be about 1.5" maybe a little less because the lense assembly is a bit over 1.25"

It isn't that hard if you do it the way I did it. And I used a 35w soldering iron. So with some soldering skills and a 15w Iron, it shouldn't be that hard.Triton wrote:no it cant be done. minimum dimensions would be about 10"x6"x2.5" possibly thinner if you relocate the disc drive but really really hard.

not too hard but very time consuming, i think there are like 30+ pins on the disc drive board all very close together, i could do it but i really wouldnt want to lol

To explain what I did I made a diagram. In total, I only extended 14 or 16 wires. The hardest thing is the spinner cable since the contacts are so close together, but if I managed with a huge 35w iron you should be fine with a 15w

All i have to do really is the screen and i was thinking around 12" would do nicely. I have still been working one the CF card mod for the GC with very little results but still results none the less. I will add to that thread soon. Sorry still keeping the GC lappy a secret but once complete i shall show all and its glory. What about you Electric Rain care to share any pics or will do what i am and keep it secret. Anyways Cheers for now ^_^
