Ok, for college I dont want to take my VHS tapes. I want to take my DVDs and laserdiscs. Now, lately I have been buying the single movies and recording my series' via this DVD recorder we have that copies directly from VHS to DVD. This is great because I can blank out the disc and re-use it when I buy the DVD of the movie I recorded.
Anyway, In recording my Series' I have ran into volumes that dont record via copy right protection, such as my Rocky IV (All the others record and they are from the same box set), and My Star Trek V (Same problem as rocky IV)
Is there a way I can disable the copy protection on VHS tapes or in the VCR?
If you mind spending the money but dont mind programming a microcontroller, you could make a 'black box' yourself. you just have to hold the line low during the blanking interval (I think)
