I don't really understand why the 8800 series cards outperform Ati's HD 2900XT. The architecture must be massively flawed, because the 2900XT has 320 stream processors vs. the 8800 GTS's 96, and the GTX's 128, and the 2900XT has 512bit memory interface vs. the 8800's 340bit.

It could be drivers. I think my All-in-Wonder Radeon 8500DV would run a lot better if the drivers worked better. I think its only running through the 4x AGP slot at 1x. Oh well, hopefully we'll get a new computer before the end of the year.

It might be drivers, but I think that Ati is having a Geforce FX moment. All of the power of the card is being eaten up trying to make it run properly due to bad architecture.
