All the live performances I've been to were classical. I've never been to a pop concert. I'm using pop loosely there. I don't just mean Britney what's-her-face.

Half of the time, I'm disappointed with an orchestra's performance because I the interpretation of a work can be way off from what I've gotten used to in recordings. But sometimes I'm just blown away. Like I saw Mahler's 2nd symphony performed live by the CSO, and it was awesome.

anyone ever hear of Black Oak Arkansas? it is one of my favorite bands. i alos like the beatles (paul at halftime on superbowl ROCKED even tho it only was on tv to me) and all kinds of other music EXCEPT like 99% of all rap and like 90% of all country music

!!!!!!! It's the one titled "Resurrection", right? I was pretty blown away, too

(my dad got my family some great seats because he's been wanting to hear this symphony live for years, now, so it sounded great up close

Damn you talking about this made me sad, sigh live music, i missed the god damn sarsfest in toronto by like 4 hours. It pissed me of so much i wanted to go so bad, I THINK everyone who was anyone played there, well most people there awesome, i wanted to get a cd, or something like that with the entire audio preformences by everyone there, you guys seen anything like that?

I saw this topic a while ago and didn't post because I hadnt been to a live concert, but recently was in santa monica and saw the Evens live: Ian Mackaye and Amy Farina(my favorite music man off all time and a chick from this other band) with baritone guitar(Ian) and drums(amy)with them both on vocals. they played a small guitar shop called mccabes and rocked. I went up to him after the show and said he was a guinus and gave him a hug. totally approchable guy, and I had a talk with him about his other bands. I saw them last thursday again about 3 miles from my old house and they were even more amazing, with them letting me and my sister in early so we could get out of the rain and watch them do their entire set list through sound check. I gave him another hug and took a picture with him. I love live shows.each was 5 bucks, about a hundred people and 2 hours long. very close and intimate. I don't see how you could be in the stands so far away from the bands. I was less then 3 feet away from the guy and the guy in front of me put his feet up on the stage! wow,this post was long....

I havent been to many concerts but the ones I have been to I have loved.
I've seen a couple local bands, my uncles band, and I went to the warped tour so thats all of my expirience.

best live show(s) you've ever been to?

One of the best was when I saw Against Me! live. They're pretty amazing, and put off a LOT of energy when they play.

KISS was a pretty good show, if only because its KISS and they practically invented (or at least perfected) the over-the-top stadium concert.

ZZ Top I saw my first concert boobies AND I had a backstage pass and went to meet Billy Gibbons (got his guitar pick).

Almost forgot George Clinton. Holy crap, I think this one takes the cake. I don't think they ever actually stopped playing their instruments. They'd just jam on one song, then stop singing, then a little later start singing lyrics to another song. There was a man in a diaper, a man holding insulting signs about George Clinton, and a man climbing over everything with a fake LONG nose on. And they were all part of the band. And they played for at least 5 hours straight (they started at 7 and were still playing at midnight when I had to leave). Just amazing.
