I got a whole bag of 1.5MHz and a few 3MHz, but I don't have any 6MHz. Does it have to be one 6Mhz or can it be two 3MHz or four 1.5MHz.

I honestly don't know, maybe someone like timmeh can enlighten us.

Unless you're doing something really stupid with your crystal, you probably need a 6MHz crystal by itself.

You could, conceivably add a frequency doubler, but analog frequency doublers are very expensive compared to the cost of a 6MHz crystal. You also may wind up with a signal that is noisier than you would like.

Or, assuming you are using this crystal to feed a digital clock generator and you have access to the clock lines, you could cut the line and install a digital clock doubler. But again, the cost (and trouble) of doing this greatly exceed the cost of a 6MHz crystal.

I'm going to use it to overclock my GBA, so cheap and small is what I'm going for. Thanks for the info.
