Revenge of the DS

Post by Super Cameraman »

Well, here's the story. My DS was really messed up. It had a hinge crack, bad touch screen, broken L button, and a little dead pixel that I couldn't really see. So I got it replaced for free. No problem.

Or so I thought. They gave me a new one, complete with a letter that says it was inspecting and everythings fine, yadda yadda yadda.

LIARS!

There's a big fat stuck pixel on the top screen and it's driving me NUTS! I've tried all the techniques I could find on Google, and some stuck pixel fixers (flash the screen a bunch of colors really fast. Siezure inducing!) and NOTHING is working. It's been a year AND A DAY since I bought it, and the warrenty lasts a year.

What do I do?!

call Nintendo, they will replace it. The key is to be firm and persistent, but not act like a jerk. I got my Gamecube warranty extended 3 months and fixed that way.
Shhh! I'm not officially back yet.

1. Open a web browser
2. Go to http://ebay.com/
3. Buy a Nintendo screwdriver
4. Buy a new screen. (keep in mind that on the Lite, the top & bottom screens are different)

Do you have a Backup Card/Cart? If so, give me a PM and I'll send you a program that can fix the pixel (It fixed mine, so maybe this one will work for you)

Well I tried everything all of you suggested (except crying and giving it to vskid  ) but it turns out that the new DS comes with a new one year warrenty, so this one's getting replaced as well. "Mike" in custommer service (which HAS to be the worst job ever) said he put a note saying to actually check it on my order.

So it's all settled, and I'll have to use this for a week or so untill the shipping sticker comes in!

Are you serious? Like KNOW HIM know him? Or you had the same guy? If you really know him, ask him if he spoke with a guy named Max who had a dead pixel!!!

Well, I know him from another forum, assuming we're talking about the same guy. He repairs over at Nintendo Of America.

1) Probably about two weeks maybe.

2) This guy doesn't actually DO repairs, he's just on the phone.
