Okay. For my main Design And Technology project this year I have to design and create a buzzer on a piece of wood. Like with L.E.D.'s and a battery and other stuff. We also put our own picture on the top. So I was wondering. Does anyone have any ideas on how I could make my buzzer the best in the class?
Oh yeah. My teacher is really wierd. He asked what a LED was and when I told him what it stood for and what it was, he (and everyone else) was amazed. And he said that we might not be able to do soldering because it is too dangerous. I think I convinced him to let us do it though. Half the class don't even know what soldering means. lol.

Make a buzzer in what way do you mean?
Our electronics teacher doesn;t care much what we do, i am building a coilgun at the mo, he doesn't care people are stilling there experementing with a 450 volt cap bank.
Must admit though, its fun getting shocked. This cap bank melt the test probes to what you care making spars on. x]

Do you mean you have to build a component that buzzes or do you mean you need to buy an off the shelf buzzer and build circuit for it?
If you are building the buzzer component itself, my quick 'n dirty method is to put a shortened cable tie on the the shaft of one of those little hobby motors and let the cable tie hit a bit of of resonating metal when the motor spins, but that's the really crude way of doing it.

I thought 'Pimp my Buzzer' was just some slang the kids were using. It might make a good hiphop song if somebody made up a creative (obscene) enough definition of the term. I can think of a couple that I might be able to float. It's probably best if I don't go into the lyrics running through my head right now, but maybe I should just go ahead and order some gold parachute pants because I smell platinum.
Anyway, 'sniff you jerks later. Maybe in a couple years after I've sold out with sneaker ads, checked myself into rehab for about the third time and blown all my money on a solid gold rocket-car. Oh, and well after I've found a whole bunch of girls to "pimp m' buzzah"--whatever the heck I end up intending that to mean. I'm sure it will involve applying wax...to my car before buffing it off.

Actually to make a weid buzzer try this. You know a relay right?
Hook the relay up, so that when current passes through its coil, it disconnects the power to itself, makes a click sound, and then is reconnected by the spring inside, it works well.
For more effect add your favorite LED to the mix, and for more noise, a speaker in series with the relay / buzzer.

Or you could buy one of thoese record your voice talking birthday cards then use a relay or solonoid to turn it on and off so u can have a voice as ur buzzer or u could just say buzzer buzzer buzzer
It be more unique and u could build a lil amp n mic for it.
Or you could use a relay and cut up one of thoese singing samon things n have the relay shut off 5seconds later before he sings
There's lots of different ways u can pimp it hell u could use a grid of leds that spell buzz or are a space invader if u want

What you should do is , have a translucent button shell , like the ones on game shows , and put the buzzer and led's underneath that, and have it so when you push it down , the buzzer sounds and it lights up.
