Game Idea: Lets make this dream, a reality....

Disclaimer: I hope I can post this here and recruit people. I'm not advertising for a forum or anything. Just I want to make this game.

With that said, lets get on with the show. I've asked people and they said that my idea rocks.

Here's my idea.

Imagine Need for Speed: Most Wanted plus Second Life (Or any rpgish sorta game). This isnt just any racing game... No. This is THE racing game. In this game you can street race, you can "work" to make money (I'll explain work later), you can get OUT of your car (yes! Walk around, for various reasons that I will list later), You can call a taxi, You can get in a pursuit, HECK! You can even be the cop!

I'll emphisize more. *Most* cars you see will be PLAYER controlled. (Except some NPC ones, as we do need some traffic.) *Most* cops will be PLAYER controlled. (Except some NPC ones.) You can street race ANYONE (NPC's or Players) anywhere, anytime. Just pull up beside them and give them the offer. Just watch out, the police are watching. If you get your car impounded, you will have to walk or take a taxi or find some meaning of transportation to get to the police station and get it out. Remember, you need money to do so.

Working, can be hard or easy. All depends on how you do it. You can work in the office, at a store, on the streets ect ect, to get cash. With that cash you will buy a car, buy parts for that car, and get that car out of the impound and pay fines. You can also buy or rent a house. You do need a place to live, don't cha?

If you lose your car, you will have to walk or take the bus or some other means of transportation to get around. Remember, losing a car isnt the end of the world. Buy another car, and win the old one back, or perhaps make a deal.

A trade system will be in effect. You can trade parts, or cars to other players to get new items. Perhaps you want to trade a nice body skirt, for some rims or for a spoiler. Its all able to be done.

A combat system (Pending) may be in effect. If you feel someone is ruining your rep, teach them a lesson. But remember, you should let your car do the talking.

Its not the ride, its the rider. Just because you have a nice car, doesnt mean you can drive good. Hone your skills at the track or on the streets. Just make sure not to break anything.

Don't wanna race? That's fine. There's other professions than that. Such as: Taxi Driver, Parts Dealer, Car Dealer, Mechanic.

Car broke down? I told you not to break anything, but thats fine. There may be some people to fix it up for ya, for a price. Contact a mechanic or parts dealer and ask for some assistance. Generally, the more you spend the better quality the part.

Be careful on who you race, as cops can go undercover and bust you faster then you can say "Nitrious!". Remember, cops are on the look out and will do anything to put you behind bars.

Current Positions:

Graphic Designers (Texture mapping, effects, lighting, car detailing, sculpting, ect)

Programmers (Hopefully coded in C++. I may be able to get Steve Becerra from Mockworld.com to help.)

Beta Testers and Debuggers (We need these people! I will be part of this group, as I have experience.)

Font-persons. (I need someone to make font in the game for chatting and such.)

Various Artists (For billboards and vinyls, and decals and such.)

Modeling (We Need cars modeled!)

Cinematic Artists (One of the most dreaded arts. Cinematics.)

Signature and Advertisment Artists. ( I need someone to create a "sig" for me and other team members to put into our sig. I also need people to make advertisment pictures and host them on websites.)

HTML and Hosting. (I need a website. I know very little HTML, so I need someone to do HTML and CSS for me. I also need someone to host our website. I also need some templates and such.)

Musicians and Musician Contacter. (We need some ingame music. So, ofcourse I need some musicians to make some music. I also think some music by professional artists would spice up the game, So I need somebody to contact them. Most artists that arent HUGE (Like TV Singers and such) will give you permission to use their song and such, as long as you give them credit. Try contacting the techno artist "SGX". I will also contact some people.)

Trailer. (I also need someone to make a trailer for this game, well multiple trailers. One to introduce, One to boost publicity, and One to show some in game.)

Sounds pretty cool, too bad I don't have any skills. I know HTML, but not CSS, my web design class was a waste of time, hardly learned anything. I could teach myself, but any site I make would likely be a mediocre job.
Would you have central servers to run it?

DEVELOPERS: HOW YOU CAN HELP TODAY!

- Change everything that's grey into blue.
- From now on, everyone wears red shoes.
- Make everything happen at midday or sunset.
- Replace gun textures with banana textures.
- Turn all cars into pink convertibles that wobble and only do 15mph.
- If you get 100 of anything, a little tune plays.
- Instead of saying "crew" say "your buddies".
- Instead of saying "hood" say "zone".
- Make the female characters something other than prostitutes.
- Make the black characters something other than drug dealers.

Maybe that's a little exxagurated- namely the shoes and grey -> blue.

ya im kinda fed up with all this need for speed fast and furious crap, shockingly enough NOT EVERYBODY LIKES YOUR RICER CRAP NEED FOR SPEED. there are other things than import tuners! muscle cars classic cars, domestic cars just regular cars not all these tuners and ricers, i would love to see racing games with non conventional cars and not stereotypical cars (eg, not all old hotrods are 32 ford coups with flames and not all other classic cars are 59 Cadillacs)

They don't even have to be imports, all the cars on Need for Speed get riced.
I want truck racing. Not little Toyota trucks or custom frames with stickers of a a production truck. I mean full-sized, 3-tons-of-American-steel trucks. Drive down dirt roads in a truck made to carry a couple tons of dead weight, bouncing all around because its springs so stiff they barely make a difference. Then they don't have to make the vehicles stronger than they are in real life for people to drive how they want, they'll have to beef up the poor computer generated driver, though.
Driving a regular car offroad would be cool, bottom out on every jump and all that fun stuff.
Rally racing and demolition derbies are cool, too.

YES! i wanna race all the old crap cause some of the grannie cars and beaters have a lot of guts for a peice of junk, im talkin volvos and stationwagons and hatchbacks and all that crap, old cars too! some of em you wouldnt expect a lot of power out of, like the buick roadmaster and chevy caprice stationwagons from the 90s, those cars came with almost the same engine as the corvette! (aluminum LS1 350CI V8) 260hp stock! and ive seen some badass volvos too! and my lebarron is a grandma car with 130hp! that would be a fun racer right there

Hey my dad had a 1977 LTD Country Squire Station Wagon. Got rid of it last year. Only had it for a about a year and a half. That wagon was custom ordered from ford by the first owner. It had a C6 trans which is the baddest pulling trans that ford still has. And had a 460 V8 under the hood. Some guy was saying that wagon couldn't pull nonthing. My dad said put your front bumper to my front bumper. Put you truck in four wheel drive. and just tell me when you want me to go. And I will push you. So yea them old cars are very powerful.

It will be a "free-charcter" game. You can make your character look like who ever you want. They're will be multiple clothing options.
