seems a little expensive, slow and useless.
there are many resonably priced RC tank kits--even proportional racing tanks. And there are literally a billion wireless camera setups. The price of the tank on thinkgeek is unacceptable even adding a PC capture card, a long range wireless camera and a hobby-grade tank, it should a bit of a challenge to go over $250. the $375 tank isn't even proportional, moves at 1/2mph (why did they post that spec?) and doesn't have any kind of camera/turret control.
really there are so many ways to go in RC tanks. Racing tanks w/o turrets, bb/airsoft tanks with full turret control, smoke, laser battle--and hardly any of them would cost more than $375 aside from a few OMG expensive brands (tamiya for example)
the one draw to this expensive setup is that it has proximity sensors and is programmable--so if you were going to go for robotics, this is your tank, and it looks like you'd be programming it yourself. But I feel the direct control of a high quality RC setup is a very satisfying feeling in comparison.
there's a decent setup here on an RC forum I'm on. I believe it's still for sale in this thread.

Where can you buy these? In my searchings of the internets, most RC sites only have a couple poopy tanks that can barely move on a flat floor. I want something that can rip through the mud and all that fun stuff, know of any that are like that? I think I might have to make my own, using parts similar to those used in the robots on Robot Wars and Battlebots.Reaperman@home wrote:there are many resonably priced RC tank kits--even proportional racing tanks.

It Depends if you actually want it. It seems like a cool idea but are you actually going to buy it? I know I wouldnt as, it seems like a waste of money to me. Thats just my opinion. You have to call this yourself.

Normal English: What would you be using it for?
Seriously, learn to spell and get a spell checker (included in Firefox 2), no one can read half the stuff you say.
