I hate to rain on your parade but why wouldn't you just buy a beefy laptop from Aleinware/Dell/HP/Acer/Gateway for $1400? They'll be a lot more powerful and all. Or get a macbook and run windows.

very nice dude! wish i had that kinda money to spend on a laptop lol, guess ill keep my lifebook around for a while yet (180$ after shipping for 800mhz 256mb ram slightly damaged hinge but otherwise perfect sans hdd which i already had)

Not bad. If it fits your needs congrats to you.

I'm waiting 'til the XO (consumer version) is released. It's said to retail for $200-250. And it's going to be sold by the company that is making the XO for the OLPC. I'm hoping their right in predicting it will be out by August or September.

Dang, thats nice, even more power than tom61's lifebook, I bet he never even considered putting Half Life 2 on his. $1400 is a little high for me, though.

Maybe an older Libretto and VNC it to a nice desktop at home...

my lifebook is about the same size as a 5 subject spiral bound notebook (Width 9.93 in. Depth 8.51 in. Height 1.14 in. Weight 3.09 lb according to some website) i love it but it would be nice to have a smaller more powerful one but i cant afford 1000+plus for a laptop lol
